Fishing on the legendary North Umpqua River

The Trip begins at the beautiful Whistler Bend County Park, where the emerald waters of the North Umpqua River promise a day filled with adventure. You’ll spend five to six hours with a local guide drifting and fishing through prime steelhead water in a classic wooden drift boat. You’ll appreciate the warmth and quiet of these classic boats. With each precise cast, anticipation builds, and when the strike comes, it’s a heart pounding battle of runs and leaps as the steelhead tests the skill of the angler. Whether you land the fish or not, the experience of fishing this legendary river-surrounded by its wild beauty-creates a memory that lasts long after the day of fishing is over.

During the summer we fish this same section of river for Beautiful Rainbow and Cut-throat Trout. Our favorite way target these is with the fly rod, and there is nothing more exhilarating than catching a beautiful Cut-Throat Trout on a light weight fly rod! These beautiful fish average 12 inches and run up to 15 inches frequently.

Our guides pride themselves on safety and local knowledge. We hope you get more than you expected on a trip with us! here’s an up to date fishing report source. https://myodfw.com/recreation-report/fishing-report/southwest-zone
