Rafting on Oregons North Umpqua River in the Spring

Whitewater rafting on the North Umpqua River in Oregon on class 4 pinball rapid

Pinball Rapid on the North Umpqua River

Wow what a great turnout for our second tagalong trip! We had 10 rafts and one IK on the water that included our two guide rafts and the safety kayak. The feedback I am getting from these trips tells me we are meeting a need for the boating community. These trips are designed to allow skilled and competent boaters to gather as a crew for the day and provide safety, and support for each other while following the lines and beta from our local guides. Teamwork is the name of the game. From stacking rafts, too scouting, and running rapids, we raft the river as a team.

One of my favorite things is meeting new boaters and checking out their equipment, Im kind of a gear nerd! It’s also a great opportunity for others to meet and go explore home rivers with new rafting friends. We try to position these trips throughout the year in a way that allows different seasons and different flows to be seen and rafted. We are fortunate in Oregon to have all four seasons and rafting the river is a great way to experience them.

The next trip is coming in June. The intent for this trip is that those that are camping this summer or just visiting will be able to see the lines and gain confidence before taking their family and friends down river. The June trip will be limited to 4 boats as we are in the busy season and we don’t want to clog up the ramps too bad. If there is enough interest we will do 2 trips in June. See you on the river!!!!!
